Hanwha Q Cells is driving this innovation forward through a significant investment of ₩136.5 billion in a pilot production line located in Jincheon, laying the groundwork for large-scale production. Their vision includes achieving mass production by the latter half of 2026, aiming to make this cutting-edge technology widely accessible and impactful in the renewable energy sector.
Silicon-perovskite tandem solar cells are designed to achieve a theoretical efficiency limit of 44%, which is 1.5 times higher than traditional solar cells. Their innovative structure, as depicted in diagrams, showcases features such as flexibility, lightweight design, and affordability, making them versatile for various applications. These applications range from agriculture and architecture to transportation, including drones and airplanes, and even wearable technology, highlighting the broad potential of this advanced solar technology.

Scotra is a trailblazer in floating solar energy solutions, having launched the first utility-scale floating PV on hydroelectric dams in 2012. It followed this with significant projects such as the 18.7 MW Floating PV at Gunsan Retarding Basin in 2018 and the 25 MW installation in Deungyang Bay, Korea, in 2020, which remains the nation's largest.
